Nepali Citizens  Require a Consular Visa if they wish to visit Costa Rica. This is a process that can take up to 15 working days after you submit your application. The requirements are the following:

Letter from the Applicant

The applicant addressed to the General Consul of Costa Rica in India, including the following information: full name, nationality, address, place of birth, occupation and email address for notifications, passport: number, type and its validity, purpose of the trip, expected time of stay in Costa Rica, approximate dates of arrival and departure and expected ports of entry and exit, address in Costa Rica, date and signature.

The passport must be submitted with the documents. All passports must have at least 6 months of validity on the day of arrival to Costa Rica.  Copy of all the pages of the passport.

Visa Payment Fee:

Visa payment receipt. The visa fee is USD 30 which can be paid in INR or USD. The payment can be made at the Embassy using a debit or credit card or through UPI or can be transferred to one of the following accounts:

Police clearance certificate (PCC)

Police clearance certificate (PCC) and its Spanish translation duly apostilled or legalized. In the case of India, the PCC must be issued by the relevant Regional Passport Office and be duly apostilled by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Its Spanish translation must also be apostilled by MEA. Please include a photocopy of both documents, as we will return the originals to you after processing the application.

Flight Ticket & Hotel Booking

Round trip flight itinerary (maximum 30 days between arrival and departure of Costa Rica).

Or if the travel expenses are covered by a Company or other person, then please submit the letter from that Company or person stating that they will cover all expenses related to lodging. In this case, a letter of invitation in Spanish from Costa Rica is required along with the identity document of the person signing the letter.

Bank Statement:

Proof of economic solvency, including as a minimum an original bank statement for the last 3 months. Bank account documents must include the bank’s stamp and seal including average balance, debit and credit history for the last 3 months.

Income Document:

Salary slips for the last three months, in the case of salaried applicants, or business data and bank statements of the company, in the case of owners.

Income Tax Return (ITR) for the last 3 years, as applicable.

✓ Once the documents have been reviewed, we may call or write a message to the applicant to make an appointment for a personal interview.

✓ The consular visa is a single-entry visa. It must be used within 60 days from the date of issuance and allows the holder to stay in Costa Rica for a maximum of 30 days; however, the actual number of days will be determined by the immigration officer upon arrival.
